May 4, 1945 - June 12, 2023

Our Dad led an incredible life! He grew up in Maplewood - chasing around the neighborhood of Burr street. He attended St. Jerome, St. Bernard's High School, and the University of St. Thomas, graduating with a math teaching degree.

He later started his career as a teacher, and that changed his life. He was a math teacher for several years - a profession which suited him well. He taught in Chatfield MN, where he met Patricia - They were married in 1971. In the summer of 1975, he built their first house with his own hands, this was the first home my parents owned. He often said how much he loved those years. The years went on - they had 2 sons, and moved to Roseville - where he shifted away from teaching and opened up Northside RV. He had his shop down on Rice Street for several years and then moved to work for several dealerships around the Twin City area.

Dad was passionate about boat racing, and the Marine Specialties Racing team. Early on in his racing career, Dad was racing with the Midwest Powerboat Association. As we got older, we started racing with the US Title Series, which brought us all over the country. After a few years he became the President of the USTS, driving organizational change and teaching this racing club how to be the best it can be.
In 2004, after 40 years of racing Dad's hard work earned his first National Championship, a great day for him and our team. Several national championships followed that one, and he was very proud of each win. Some of you were there for those championships, you can remember the size of the smile across Dad's face.

In 2007, Dad was promoted to the most important position of his career when he became Grandpa. With 6 grandchildren between 2007 and 2015, he considered himself an expert at this position too.

Early 2015 he was diagnosed with leukemia and he fought this cancer for 8 hard years. He went through the first round of intense chemo, he won that battle and had new life. When leukemia came back a couple years later, he went back for more chemo, he won that battle and had new life again. In the middle of last year, leukemia spread, and this battle was too much for even our Dad - So, after this latest battle he did not win new life, but instead was granted eternal life.

So, we say goodbye to the most resilient, resourceful, and the toughest man we've ever met. Thank you, we love you Dad.

We're grateful for the nurses and workers at Regions Hospital and a special thanks to Dr. Dan Anderson for his knowledge, expertise, and mutual respect with our Dad.
